The Great Turning
Ecopsychology is concerned with the development of a synergistic and
sustainable relationship between humans and the nonhuman world for
the benefit of earth as a whole. It has far reaching implications in
environmental science, ecology, politics, and the arts on a personal and
group level. It entails a mind shift in awareness that is open to all life in
its abundant diversity and intrinsic value.

Art can foster the development of intellectual, emotional, and spiritual
Thus, through art, we can open our senses and intellect to experiencing
and connecting with the human and nonhuman world. This is art as
environmental awareness.

Meditation as a tool of conscious awareness can integrate nearly all
conscious processes in the mind and the body. Through sitting meditation
one learns to listen more deeply to all the dimensions of life. It can help
to find a balance between the heart and mind, provide a ground for
being, and a path to authentic presence.
